The co-owner since 2007 Piero Bagnasco, of the Agricola Brandini, organic winery of La Morra, one of the 11 municipalities of Barolo that is part of the UNESCO heritage landscapes, tells us about his adventure as a producer of the great Piedmontese wines.
“My first memory in the cellar dates back to 30 years ago ... Going hunting in the poor Langa my friends offered me a glass of Dolcetto in their dark cellar from which a strong musty smell came out, there they had been making wine for generations with grapes harvested in the beautiful vineyard near the house. Only after so many years, having become passionate and curious about wines, did I understand that the dark cellar was not romantic but only dirty, that the magnificent vineyard was worked with herbicides and that that unpleasant smell wine was undrinkable.
Our organic company has a completely different direction, the commitment we put into our work is for an excellent and quality wine, it allows us to demonstrate that nothing is impossible, especially to those people so deeply rooted in their ancestral knowledge. The world of wine needs young forces, who must not be afraid of not having a history of winemaking behind them, since passion, clear ideas and the courage to dare are enough. Ours is a curious and fantastic world, and I am sure that in the future with the right commitment, wine will become better and healthier, more expert and aware consumers, in short, will continue to improve.
We want to taste with you Langhe Bianco "Le Coccinelle" Doc grape variety 95% Arneis and 5% Viognier Vintage 2013, from organic farming. Immediately it presents itself with an important straw yellow color, with an immediate nose tropical fruit that gradually turns into aromatic herbs, leaving it in the glass for a few minutes, first the sage and then the rosemary emerges .... a real school for our sense of smell.
In the mouth a fresh, savory taste pleasantly fills the palate for a long time and perfectly reflects everything that the nose has perceived, 14 degrees and you don't feel them, while the bottle is already empty. "
